Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship

This course provides a valuable opportunity to gain a Bachelor’s degree while working in the manufacturing sector. The programme is designed to develop the next generation of manufacturing engineers by combining academic learning with practical, work-based experience. It’s an ideal route for individuals aiming to progress professionally while contributing to real-world industrial settings.

The Manufacturing Engineering Degree Apprenticeship focuses on developing the skills required to solve operational challenges in industry by applying principles of systems management, engineering, and information technology. Apprentices will gain technical knowledge and practical competencies across various engineering disciplines, preparing them for a broad range of engineering roles.

The course typically takes 3 to 4 years to complete, depending on the first-year mode of study, followed by an End Point Assessment (EPA). Apprentices attend university part-time while working full-time for their employer, ensuring a practical and applied learning experience.

Applicants must be employed and sponsored by an organisation. Entry requirements include five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above (including Maths, English, and a relevant Science/Technology subject), and either:

  • A Levels at grade C or above in both a Maths-based subject and a relevant Science/Technology subject, or

  • 90+ credits in an Engineering BTEC Level 3 qualification.
